Guest guest
Great stuff Sally! Maybe when we stop focusing on what we can't do and focus on what we can do, others will not see us for our disabilities for more for our Can Do personality! My friends also love my scooter and are jealous that I can go shopping and not have to carry my own bags! They just throw all of their bags on me too. It is all about attitude and adjustments. Hope Gavin keeps up as the excellent role model that he is. Jackie
Guest guest
Thank you Jackie, much appreciated...not having CMT ourselves Rob and I are negotiating uncertain territory but are constantly reminding ourselves that this is his normal and as long as we treat him as a regular kid he will be ok with it. He has CMT but it is not who he is. Of course, being a normal kid, there are the attempts to get out of unloading the diswasher due to " sudden' fatigue that wasn't there 5 minutes before His latest idea is to be a doctor who is a standup comedian in the evenings...who knows if the standing involved in that will be realistic...if he's comfortable with using whatever is there to help hopefully he will find a way (assuming he doesn't change his mind 20 times before the end of high school!) Happy summer everyone...we've finally had 2 sunny days in a row Cheers Sally ------------------------------------------------ Sally Pehrsson, Ph.D Project Leader, Flin Flon Project Targeted Geoscience Initiative Program Geological Survey of Canada 601 Booth Street Ottawa, Ontario K1A 0E8 613-943-8883 (phone) 613-943-0843 (fax) pehrsson@...
