Guest guest
I'm counting down the days to have surgery to fix the hammer toes on my right 'good' foot. Two years ago I had fusion surgery on the left foot to correct a charcot condition. Before surgery, both feet were equal in numbness. Post surgery, numbness starts at the left knee and goes down. I'm fearful that whatever caused this increase in numbness will occur in the right leg. I checked the files section under anesthesia but found nothing regarding nerve blocks. I suspect that it was a nerve block that killed the nerves, thinking that dying nerves can't recover from the trauma. Anyone have any experience or additional knowledge with this? My foot is numb enough that they could probably do the surgery without any deadening of the nerves at all. Thanks. O
