Guest guest
To all: I am a 56 year old man who probably has AS (I was diagnosed with autism as a child, but the Asperger's label wasn't used then). Like everyone else, I like to be liked/loved, and I like signs of affection. However, every once in awhile my wife is overcome by emotion, grabs me, says, " I love you, I love you, I love you " very fast, and gives me lots of little kisses on the cheek. Although I know this is my problem, not hers, I sort of shrink away internally (years ago I would have done so externally, but I think I've improved). Similarly, in the past, when a girl seemed to come on too strong sexually or romantically too fast, I also felt uneasy and retreated. Maybe I can't take " gushing emotion, " whether it's positive OR negative. Is this an AS trait? And how do some other people deal with it. Raanan G.
