Did you READ my note? If you are politically active then you KNOW that

unless support is there, no one who will spend time to draft one etc.

I am also VERY politically active and can claim to be personal friends

with some in DC. So I know the 'games' shall we say work. Writing to a

congressional rep gets a 'generic " thanks for your opinion.

Why do I want a copy? Simple, I need letters to help get Harry to want to

address adding this to the health care bill now that it's in the hands of

the Senate.

Have you gotten this far to have someone consdering getting anything

addressed? Apparently not since this is the first time you are mentioning

that you are 'active in politics'.

You are semi-correct in reference to their party/area. A bill amendment

starts in an area and has to gain support to move forward. My friend was

one of the first co-sponsors of the SNIFF bill years ago in the House and

it died in sub-committee becasue people did nto contact their local reps

to garner support for it.

I am also the big " D " but I know that there are the " R " who want to 'save'

$ etc., and they have to be catered to while getting the agenda to be

viable/addressed.

So, if you are under the 'conviction' that it is only straight party that is

your perogative, but, the 'wording' is what gets things done as you very

well know.

I went on a rampage for 5 yrs on this problem,. I involved senators and

comgressmen. I got NOWHERE!! I got tired and gave up

Ok not true! I have been sending emails to elected officials for at least

a year with only automated responses in return. I didn't feel like I had to

announce my actions because truthfully I don't think anyone really cares

about sending emails to politicians BECAUSE they just don't seem to have any

effect!

I'd love to see a national organized movement but I'm no leader and I have

no connections so i email and hope for the best.

But we're on the right track talking about it!

That's exactly what they want. They want us to get tired and give up and go

away. I hope you get your " second wind " and start again. As Sharon and Carl

said, there has been a lot of progress. Let's keep pushing!!!

me about the safety of our products. I appreciate your taking the time to

contact me on this important matter. It goes on to say The FDA is responsible

for making sure these food supplies are safe and uncontaminated, but the

FDA's budget does not reflect this responsibility. He has joined his

colleagues in requesting an increase in funding. And Congress is working on

legislation to strengthen our oversight of all products that enter the country.

I have found that you usually can talk to you local senators, legislator's

office, but when you call someone from another state they don't take your name,

or send a response. I called Senator Kennedy's office several times and Henry

Waxman but they mainly just listen, they but never send a letter other than the

people in their own state.

Couldcareless2, Yes, I did read your note and please don't imply I am liar in

your email. I said I was active in politics and you said you doubt it. That is

so rude. I have not posted anything to the group about politics because I have

NOT been politically active on *mold issues*, but there are other issues to care

about. I can't do as much as I used to though since 2005 when I got sick, have

had house repairs, moved twice and through it, keep my job.

I will participate if group does a writing campaign by writing to my senators,

Mitch McConnell and Jim Bunning. I doubt it will do any good. If I could get

the ear of either of them, then their constituency here will not care about this

at all. The population here are horses, cows and Rush Limbaugh fans, their

contributors are big business strictly.

I don't think this is a good time to try. The Senate and Congress have enough

to do to get everyone covered by insurance and find out how to pay for it, and

get that passed is a huge job, so I think it will fall on deaf ears.

I'm not trying to throw cold water on it. I just think that mold and toxic

illness and the issues surrounding it it are so complicated that I feel it would

need more attention than we could get now, to get anything accomplished, and

there is no reason this has to be included in this huge bill, just might make it

harder to pass.

Exposing the truth would be a good thing.Â Â Â Amazing how they avoid the

subject.Â Florida is going to be so full of toxic homes they will have to

acknowledge something soon, between mold and toxic drywall.Â
