Guest guest
I look at it like Americans have not yet reached their bottom. In other words we still are not doing our homework and even worse getting our news from FOX not the facts news stations. I chuckle to myself as I have known for 30 years that all of this will lead to a total collapse of our economy because when a society takes out the middleclass as our dumbass country has done they take out the very customers that make and keep the rich, rich. Big PhaRMA and the health insurance companies may be laughing all the way to the bank but when they get there they are going to realize their revenues are decreasing instead of increasing because no one can afford healthcare. It will take them a long time to get it but get it they will. It's similar to what happened during the Great Depression and prior to the Great Compression when FDR kept taking the advice of Conservatives and of course it didn't work then and it won't work now. We are in for some rough times if the public option gets removed from the healthcare debate. Incidentally in the healthcare industry 31% goes to administration with the bulk of that going to denying claims. In addition at a minimum 15% goes to profits. That a whopping 46% that doesn't go to patient care. I don't know about you but I don't understand how it came to pass that companies can make a profit off the sick and dying. It just doesn't make sense to me. How did we get to this place? By the way I have always had a golden healthcare plan from cradle to now and I can tell you even with the best insurance available on the market I still received substandard care. I get the most profitable treatments vs. the treatments that work. With special interests controlling our healthcare in this country we will continue to decline on the list. And that my folks is the American way. Guest guest
Sharon, you made some good points. I want to add that it's not just the FOX Network that has " troubling " news reports. The other major networks also have big problems---those big problems are known as corporate influence and control. The issue of toxic mold is a perfect example of corporate control over the news. Why do you think there has been little or no coverage of the issue by the national news networks or national media or national talk shows? > > > > " ...there will be no effective alternative for consumers in the market for > > health coverage, which means no competitive pressure for private insurers > > to rein in premiums and other charges. Guest guest
Mayleen, You watch Glenn Beck? Don't you know he is the worst offender at FOX not the facts news? First he says we have a terrible healthcare system and now he says we have the best healthcare system in the world. The truth is we're 36 out of all industrial nations. That is fact and what Glenn Beck says are lies. And he is a racist as well as a liar and over ten major advertisers stopped advertising on his show. Even Barbara Walters cornered him for lying. Glenn Beck only cares about himself and his ratings and the millions he makes from FOX news for spreading lies. Please take the time to learn the facts.
