Guest guest
*****ACTION ALERT ***** www.NJVaccinationChoice.org Conscientious Exemption to Vaccination Bills (A260/S1071) Friday, May 16, 2008 Your Calls are Needed to Protect Our Children's Health On Friday, May 16th we need your calls to support the proposed conscientious exemption to vaccination bills (A260/S1071). We have made steady progress and now have 23 sponsors in the Assembly and 9 sponsors in the Senate. Now, we need to have these bills posted in the Assembly and Senate committees for a vote. Last week members of the NJ Coalition for Vaccination Choice met with Senator Vitale, Chair of the Senate Health Committee. Now he needs to hear from you. He and others in legislative leadership positions need to know how important this legislation is to New Jersey parents and citizens. These key people need urging from constituents to get the bills out of committee and onto the floor for a vote. CALL Senator ph Vitale – – Ask him to Co-Sponsor S1071 and post for a hearing and a vote in his committee CALL Senate President Codey – – Ask him to Co-Sponsor S1071 and support the posting of the bill in the Senate Health Committee CALL Assemblyman ph – – Ask him to Co-Sponsor A260 and ask him to help get a committee vote on it. We need everyone in NJ to call these three legislators on Friday, May 16th. They need to know that the people of NJ are tired of being forced into vaccination decisions they are not comfortable with. NJ Needs Vaccination Choices. Please forward this alert to others who can also make calls. BACKGROUND If you crave more talking points, check out our website for more information and background: www.NJVaccinationChoice.org NJ is the first and only state to mandate the flu shot for all preschoolers 6 months and older as well as the only state to mandate the meningitis vaccine for 6th graders. We also now require a pneumonia shot for preschool and another DTaP booster for 6th grade. Our children are getting too many shots too soon. We have the highest rates of autism in the country and parents must have the right to informed consent when it comes to vaccination. You can view the bill here: <http://www.njleg.state.nj.us/2008/Bills/A0500/260_I1.PDF> Current sponsors of A260/S1071 can be found at: <http://njvaccinationchoice.org/sponsors.html> Please send any feedback you receive to email@... (If for some reason, you are unable to call on Friday, please call the following week, we need to keep this issue in the forefront)
