This is a link to a post, with several photos, that Pete (my husband) posted

to his Christian Metal Detectorists forum about my mom, our visit to her

yesterday evening, etc. The photo of the lake (the view is, of course, more

spectacular in person) is what my mom can see as she plays her piano. There

are photos of with Casey and me also...

My mom's new roommate has her little pet birds with her, that is so cool

that she can have them in her room! They also have finches in the activity

room. And lots of people bring their dogs, cats, etc to visit, the

residents are always fawning over other people pets when they're there.

Last night the nurse called me at about 9:00. Apparently my mom, a heavy

smoker for over 50 years and now with COPD as a result, had wanted a hot

bath. So the aide was getting it ready for her and said that she was

having a hard time breathing. The nurse on duty - - left the room

to get a breathing treatment for her, and when she came back was

laying on the floor. asked why she was on the floor and my mom said

that she'd fallen. Well, my mom is steadier and stronger than I am, and it

was apparently from her position that she hadn't fallen, and obviously there

were no injuries. Then my mom refused her breathing treatment, refused to

talk to about it, and started getting agitated, so just left

her alone rather than let things escalate, and watched her from the hallway.

And she missed her nice warm bath that she'd been talking about all evening

:(. assured me that my mom was fine (she's one of my favorite

nurses there, is the other one) but of course she had to let me know...

The psych hospital said that my mom exhibited sundowners syndrome every

night that she was there, becoming very confused, easily agitated, and

behaving more bizarrely than her daytime periods of same...that is new, and

I'd hoped it was just as a result of being in a new place when she was in

the hospital. We will see how that goes.

Anyway, thought you might like to see a few pictures :).

His,

Sherry
