Guest guest
, Twenty months ago my husband endured a serious medical saga involving heart disease due to congestive heart failure. I was told his next step was a heart transplant. On March 21, 2008, just 3 days later he experienced death and resuscitation at the hands of a hospital medical team. I have his medical files that I believe prove they could have prevented his death experience, perhaps they even outright caused his death experience (I believe so). The following week as I prepared to take him home from the hospital I was told I was taking him home to die - by not one, but a whole team of cardiologists. I informed them I was taking him home to LIVE. Dr. Dennis Glasscock, an electro-physiologist, told me that I didn't understand, it was a matter of life or death. Glasscock stated he would be dead within 2 weeks, probably a couple days, without an AICD implanted, as I prepared to bring my husband home. We set out to keep my husband not only alive, but help him obtain a good quality of life, without an internal cardiac defibrillator implantation. You can read the death experience saga at www.impendingsenseofdoom.com My husband is not only still alive, he was thriving until a viral illness (perhaps related to Lyme Disease or his moldy office) knocked him down. Once again he's regaining his health, slowly but surely. I highly suggest reading the book Sinatra Solution by Dr. Sinatra, M.D. - we found Sinatra's protocols of supplements to be very beneficial for my husband. I also suggest contacting an oriental medical doctor (OMD) and/or Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner. Through our OMD, we discovered DanShen which has been tremendously helpful for my husband - closest similar item we've found available outside of a chinese herbalist is Cardioshen available here http://www.luckyvitamin.com/item/itemKey/80373 He also takes alpha lipoic acid, among many other supplements. We order d-ribose powder directly through Nutrabulk though it is available through nutrition outlets and Amazon. His ejection fraction has been restored from less than 20% to at the very least 49% (as tested while he was suffering from the viral infection, we know his heart was under stress again) where 50% to 65% is considered normal. My husband (mid 50s) has since returned to working full-time at a very stressful job, helps with household chores, plays with his grandchildren, enjoys activities with our german shepherd, and otherwise leads a relatively normal active healthy lifestyle despite having been (correctly) diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, chronic hypertension, congestive heart failure, ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, diverticulitis, diabetic neuropathy, retinal hemorrhage and micro hemorrhages on the brain (we believe from being given Plavix in conjunction with apsirin since he never had these problems until that protocol was administered by a hospitalist this year despite our repeated warnings that he " bleeds out " anytime he's on a " full Plavix and full aspirin, daily " .) We also believe he was incorrectly diagnosed with TIAs and stroke when he was later diagnosed with a very virulent virus that we suspect may actually be Lyme disease or other opportunistic viral infection that impaired his neurological abilities and caused cardiac changes, among many other things. He's only being given 3 or 4 prescriptions now - less than he's been instructed to take for a couple decades, I believe. We expect my husband to be free of any daily routine prescription drugs sometime in the coming year. He is already off the statins due to the side effects of muscle pains and back pain when he's on the statin drugs (I recall vividly the details of my father, never a sick man until he was routinely going to doctors and taking prescriptions under their scrutiny, having serious back pain after he also began taking statins.. then he died of multiple organ failure stemming from liver failure as he faithfully took the statin drug... makes me wonder... so instead my husband takes red yeast rice on occasion in place of the statin drugs... we use with caution though since some statins are derived from red yeast rice hence it may contribute to the same side effects...) Your mileage may vary, since what works for one person may or may not work for another. I also must add we follow a strict lifestyle of NO SODA, NO BROMINATED VEGETABLE OIL, very minimal high fructose corn syrup, minimal bleached refined products, minimal trans fats, etc and instead we follow a lifestyle of nutrition that we developed but for the sake of space is very similar to what Montel writes about in Living Well except I use a vast array of quality herbs (www.sfherb.com is a great source!) for their holistic properties. I've been preaching a rainbow of vegetables since before I read Montel's book. Jeri
