Sounds like Myles has had a great time! The storms missed us totally....we had less than an inch of snow in 2 days. Hope all is well. hugs, Sue
Guest guest
I'm sorry, I've been bouncing and didn't realize it, I just thought the list got really quiet! Anyway, I'm reading through the posts, and will try to catch up here a little bit... First, Eileen (in MN), I'm sorry to read about your mom. Re: Lewy bodies in the gut - I did find some references for this: http://www.pdf.org/Publications/newsletters/fall06/PD_More_than_a_Movement_Disor\ der.cfm , can I have the questions also? Kate - Sometimes doing the best we can for someone means NOT having them live at home. This is something that I've had to realize and come to terms with myself in these last few weeks. I didn't let my mom down by putting her in the NH - to the contrary, I made the best decision that I could for her - as you are doing for Joyce. When you see it that way, there's no need for guilt . Gladys, when you wrote, " For the past few years (especially the last one) she has been sooooo angry and depressed. She is so " out of it " most of the time now, but seems to be happier than I've ever seen her " it really hit home; is happy and fun and very loving on the days that she's " out of it " - showing the fun side of her personality that I remember from when I was a child...but on her " good " days she's depressed and angry at what is happening to her life. She also has been very depressed and angry for the last few years, but as she has more and more " out of it, " and therefore happier, days with each passing week... Kathy, my mother also has this " sundowning " going on, where her entire demeanor changes toward late afternoon. She becomes pretty nasty some days, barely tolerable most days . Leona, I feel your sadness in your words...doing what you believe to be right for him is something you can take comfort from...{{{Leona}}} I'm glad all made it through the storms unscathed! I finally read all the posts I've missed...will update on my mom tomorrow if the " bug phone " isn't too busy. Lots to tell...lots of changes. It feels so good to be back!
