Guest guest
Thank you for daring to bring up the issue of our mortality and presenting an idea of how to do something for the support of Lyme research. There's not a lot we can do sometimes, especially if we are feeling very ill; this gives us some hope of contributing the most important thing we have!! Maybe such research could lead the docs to find something that could see to it that not as many of us had to suffer or die from it. You are brave, thoughtful, and practical about considering what's going to happen when you die... most people just don't want to think about it, or certainly not to plan for it. b >From: " Ann Prow " <aprow@...> >Reply- > " " < > >Subject: [ ] Body Donation >Date: Sat, 8 Nov 2003 11:37:45 -0700 > > >Thank you for everyone thoughts and comments about this issue. > >I am looking to find where the people who are studying lyme are so that >anyone of us can donate our bodies and help future generations. > >Before I read what I did on this organizations pamphlet, I didn't think of >this as an issue before but, it makes sense to me that no one would want my >spirochete infested body for transplant -- and it just makes me sad -- so I >need to find who would be able to learn from it - not the medical students, >the medical research team that are studying lyme. > >I have sent messages out to some who may know who is doing the research and >will let you know if I find a way to donate for Lyme study. > >Thanks again! >Ann > >
Guest guest
Hi, I'm new to this group and appreciate all the information. I have a question: I have an as yet unknown type of CMT. I've had it since childhood. I have five children, all without CMT and 19 grandchildren also unaffected, thank God. My question is: do you know if there is a way to donate one's body after death for CMT research? I am in very good health but am making plans hoping that such a gift might help others. I know it may be an unusual request but I would appreciate any info you can give. Thanks. Lois Gallo
Guest guest
Hi Lois, I admire you for planning ahead. While I am not certain on which institutions, if any, are this advanced, but you might try Scripps, Loma University, Mayo Clinic, Wayne State, Baylor College of Medicine (Texas), MIHG (Miami), U of Rochester Medical Center(NY), Univ.of Penn Neurology or the Univ. of Washington Dept. of Neurology (Seattle).
