Guest guest
, I once had to quit a job due to a car accident, surgery and recovery. My doc assured me I'd mend, but said I needed about 6 months to get myself back together, in other words 'stop working' temporarily. I did receive unemployment benefits during that time, as I could still look for work with some modifications - like grantwriting from home, or making my own hours at the firm (like 2 hours a day). This was back in the 80's though, unemployment may be different now. Check with your State Department of Economic Development. Sorry I can't help out with the wheelchair issue. Date: Thu, 20 Aug 2009 19:23:26 +0000 Subject: Two Things - Unemployment and Wheelchairs I am thinking about getting a wheelchair that I can propel myself with ease. I just let my mom have my not so great one, because she has cancer. I can really use a wheelchair when extensive walking is my other option. For those of you, who use a wheelchair... 1. Did your insurance help pay for it? 2. Do you have a wheelchair that you really love? Brand? Model? Where did you buy it? Did you get measured for it? The second issue is this. I pretty much cannot do my job anymore. I am going to the doc on Tuesday and I am pretty sure he will tell me I need to stop. That is what I was told two years ago and I am still here. I am a preschool teacher with 28 1 and 2 year olds in my class. I almost fall over a bazillion times a day and am in pain. I get so exhausted I honestly feel like I am going to vomit. Okay, for those of you who had to leave a particular job because of doctors orders, were you able to get unemployment while you looked for another job? Share your experience please. I am so scared. My husband does not earn enough to support me or carry my health insurance. Thank you. _________________________________________________________________ Get back to school stuff for them and cashback for you. http://www.bing.com/cashback?form=MSHYCB & publ=WLHMTAG & crea=TEXT_MSHYCB_BackToSch\ ool_Cashback_BTSCashback_1x1
