Guest guest
I am 51 and have CMT. I don't have the muscle loss in my calves but I do in my feet. I work at a 3 story restaurant and have been there for 13 years. That is probably why I still have the muscles in calves. I am always in pain and I have severe numbness from the knees down.I have been on pain meds for about 3 years and may get a spinal cord stimulator. If I stay at my job I will get worse. I have had to call in so many times. I also wear my AFOs at work. My problem is I can't make enough money anywhere else to support myself. So I am stuck. I cry nearly everyday because I am afraid I will end up in a wheelchair in a few years. This runs heavy in my family. 2 brothers in a wheelchair, my mom was before dying and my half brothers daughter. I really just want to know if anyone else out there has the severe numbness and the pain in the legs. Tamara
Guest guest
Tamara, I have severe numbness and pain in my legs - you're not alone at all.I too am afraid that I will be in a WC soon but for now I will do my best to be a happy person and not to fill my time with worry about my next level of onset.
