Guest guest
I have CMT 2 also. I need to sleep 8 to 8 1/2 hours. I can exist on 6 hours for about only 2 days before I start feeling out of sync.

Guest guest
Hi Orania, I have noticed that I need more sleep than for example my partner (not a CMTer, but I am). I need 8-9 hours. If I don't, I usually get more sleep the day after. 6 hours seem to little, but it depends how you feel. All rested and everything ok - then it is enough. Guest guest
My amount of sleep really depends on my activity level. Right now I am 4 months pregnant and I have a 2 1/2 and a 5 1/2 year old. They both have CMT as well so I am very busy homeschooling, taking my 5 yr old to her co-op classes, taking them to Physical therapy, and just taking care of our daily needs. I sleep about 12 hour per night right now!!! I am busy all day long taking care of the kids and running around to all their appts and such. Then there is cooking, cleaning, laundry ect. to do at home. If I am not too tired by 5 I make dinner and then hubby gets home. He takes over from there and I hit the couch. I usually fall asleep before the kids are even in bed LOL. I know I am over doing it but I really feel that there is no other choice for me right now. I have to take care of my kids. I think the fact that they have CMT makes it even harder for me because they need more help than " normal " kids plus all the extra doctors appts and physical therapy appt.s. A couple times I have had to cancel their physical therapy appts and spend the day on the couch because my body just could not keep going. So, long story short I think the amount of sleep you need really depends on how much you are taxing your body. The amount of activity would be different for each one of us because of our unique situations and how far we have progressed. I say listen to your body. Talk to your doctor. Is anything making you wake up, or making it hard for you to fall asleep? > >
