Guest guest
This is one of many letters that I've written, but thought it might serve as a sample. I wrote this after calling Sen. Boxer's senior health LA and exchanging e-mails with her. This was my first e-mail to her after talking o the phone. Anyone who wants to could fax something like this in on the day of the rally or even the day before. Talking points specific to this rally, with more legislation than I mentioned below, will hopefully be available to all soon. Honorable Senator (insert name) I wanted to share a little information about myself and how I came to work in advocacy. Please pass this along to Senator Boxer. Below is the story of my children and my work in advocacy. My husband Avery and I have two children affected by clinically confirmed mercury poisoning from their childhood vaccines; Alasdair, age 9. and Conrad, age 8. Both children received the full load of mercury in their childhood vaccines in the late 1990's. (Show picture) Alasdair, at 15 months of age, had a severe documented reaction to his varicella/MMR vaccines. In addition to this severe physical reaction, he regressed overnight. Within 24 hours he began to engage in self-injurious behaviours, such as head-banging, and lost all language for 3 years. Conrad was born four weeks premature with jaundice and was given the Hepatitis B vaccine at birth. I now know that jaundice should have been a contraindication to the Hep B vaccine, aside from giving an infant with low birth weight 12.5 mcg of mercury on the day of birth. At just two months of age both children received an additional 80 mcg of mercury from the thimerosal in their vaccines. By age two, they recieved 212 mcg of mercury. Conrad struggles on a daily basis with even the simplest tasks. He has a primary immune deficiency and chronic gastrointestinal problems, causing frequent illness and pain, making it even more difficult for him to learn. We returned to California in March 2005, due to my husband's work. My childrens' health and special needs have prohibited me to have a career since 2003. I became involved in many local and National organizations and support groups such as FEAT (Families for Early Autism Treatment), Generation Rescue, Sacramento Biomed Group, TACA (Talk About Curing Autism), The National Autism Association, and joined A-CHAMP as a District Leader. I became a volunteer parent mentor for FEAT and Generation Rescue to help new parents struggling with diagnosis, and to provide support and information on special diets and other non-drug therapies. I then met Lenny Schafer, Creator and Editor in Chief of the Schafer Autism Report (SAR), which has well over 20,000 subscribers. I help Mr. Schafer with his subscription data occasionally, and in return he provides support and issues action alerts for my lobbying efforts on numerous bills that are autism/health related in the State Assembly and Senate. Rick Rollens is a parent advocate who's son (age 17) is affected by autism. He is co-founder of the U.C. M.I.N.D Institute and founder of the California Legislative Blue Ribbon Commission on Autism. He has worked in and around the State Capitol for the past 25 years. We have testified together on numerous bills and he has become a wonderful source of support as well. The autism community is really counting on Senator Boxer to become more proactive regarding these issues. Last year HR 2832 was introduced by Rep. Maloney and ; Comprehensive Comparative Study of Vaccinated and Unvaccinated Populations. Please help us see to it, that this bill is made law in any way that you possibly can. Unfortunately, most independent researchers don't have the money to conduct such a study, and access to the VSD (vaccine safety data link) has been repeatedly denied to independent researchers and other experts. This must change. I ask that if these funds are approved, Senator Boxer help to ensure that Independent researchers and other entities free from conflicts of interest be granted access to the VSD, through the FOIA. Thousands of California families that have cases filed in vaccine court have waited years for their cases to be heard. Each affected child has a circle of family, friends, teachers, and therapists whom are all deeply concerned about the issue of vaccine safety as well. These families have a right to due process. This court was set up for our children, yet families continue to struggle to raise their vaccine-injured children day by day while they wait for justice. In addition, many expert witnesses are frequently attacked by government appointed attorneys. I ask that Senator Boxer give attention to these matters and take part in creating positive change for the children and families of California, and in doing so creating an ideal example for the rest of our Nation. Sincerely, King A-CHAMP District Leader 3rd Congressional District http://www.a-champ.org > > Hi, > I live in CA and am wondering about the book that was mentioned that is > being put together for the rally. > Could I please have more information?
