Terrific job, Sharon!!! I keep hoping that someone in Washington will

finally listen to what you have been telling them. They hear but they are not

listening!! I was a teacher and always told my students there was a

difference in hearing me and actually listening to understand.

I went to Washington, along with 2 others, years ago to our congressman.

We took a huge binder of info and books then talked to an aide for over an

hour. I called about three times after the meeting and never received a

call back. Very frustrating!

Thank you for all you continue to do!

Sue

“So my question is: Why should I believe in your healthcare reform? The

Democrats have done NOTHING to help those thousands of US citizens

severely

injured by mold; even when handed the US Chamber of Commerce’ roll in the

wrongful denial of illness for the sake of insurers and employers, on a

silver platter.â€

Sue,

They hear. They understand. They are all just afraid to go up against the

US Chamber of Commerce. I used to think it was lobbying dollars that caused

the conflicts of interest that caused the inaction over this issue. But

now I think that is not true. I think they are all fearful of a wicked

smear campaign should they call the Chamber out directly for it's involvement

in the racketeering over the mold issue..or call them out directly on

anything else for that matter. Guess I will just have to do it myself!

Still, the good news is, things are slowly changing. The fact that the

CDC is going to present the UConn study to physicians and even give free CME

credits for attending, is indicative of a HUGE step in the right direction.

Sharon,

Your comments on fear over lobbying money are 'right on.'

Remember when your story first broke in November of 2006 and I

found multiple people within ACOEM who knew what was going

on and who objected? My next column was titled " Silence Is Not

Always Golden. "

You and a group of esteemed professionals got an article

published in the IJOEH about the overall issues with ACOEM a

year later. Only Dr Jim Craner had the courage and the will to

individually challenge them. But it took 18 months for him to

gather the evidence and get his position published in the IJOEH

the next year. And you must give yourself credit for supporting

him to do this.

I agree that progress is being made and that we've a long way to

go. But success is possible! Yes, you need to continue but you

have many allies now and are no longer alone. (Despite feeling

that way most of the time, One of the unescapable realities of

true pioneers!).
