I don't recall ever hearing him comment on CSM or diflucan. I was on

Sporonox for about two and half years. I started feeling somewhat better after

about 6 months on them. But everytime I would try to go without them, I

would be right back down again (memory problems, blurred vision, numbness,

bloated abdomen, bone tired, couldn't get my head off of the pillow...but

some really cool vivid dreams!) Now, I have no symptoms except for an

occassional swelling of the feet that I can take care of with home antifungal

remedies. I just spent three nights in a musty boutique hotel in ton.

It didn't bother me a bit. Dr. Marinkovich used to say that it would take

two to five years before people get better. For me, it was about four and

a half years of slow recovery before I felt pretty much normal again.

Mine was more of a sudden blast, high dose exposure rather than a long

term chronic one. From what I have witnessed on this board and in other

places, I think long term chronic exposure is more difficult to recover from.

I can't say the same would hold true for anyone else or even if what I was

exposed to were the same mix of microbes others have been. This is just my

personal experience.

Lamisil works for me. I tried Diflucan and Sporanox, but they did nothing for

me.

I'm curious to hear from people who are doing significantly better after a

mold exposure which antifungal they are on? NFI but just a poll?

I'm on diflucan and CSM and it helps, but I'm not 100%...I haven't tried

lamisil or sporonax, although curious to.

Did Marinkovich think CSM and diflucan wouldn't work?

Sharon, thanks for sharing your list of symptoms. This is the first time I have

heard someone mention bloated abdomen. I have all of your symptoms including

bloated abdoment and I also have swollen lymph nodes. Does anybody else have

swollen lymph nodes and do your doctors have any answers?

You are welcome. That wasn't all of the symptoms I would have. There

were a Bunch of bizarre things going on with my body a couple of years back.

One of the weirdest was growling of my stomach. Not just a quick little

growl, but one that would last for about 30 seconds at a time. And it was

really loud, too. Sounded like I had an alien in my stomach! When I look

back at the documentation from the neuropsych exam they put me thru (ya know,

for being crazy enough to think a house with a high airborne mold spore

count was not safe for my CF daughter), I had twenty eight different symptoms

that I never had before the botched remediation in our home.

I have swollen lymph nodes in my neck and when I have a heavy exposure I

also have them under my arms. Dr Lieberman didn't have any answer except

that it occurs from the bodies immune system overreacting -I guess it is the

body using it's 1st line of defense?? Unfortunately my neck is pretty much

swollen 80% of the time, especially on the left side-which is interesting.
