Guest guest
Hi Matt, Yes this news about Avicena came out about 4 years ago. I don't think much as been done since in the way of development. It's Creatine supplementation. Go to past posts # 34715, 34726, 35465, 38734, 38744, 38747, 38754, 40564 Clinical use of creatine in neuromuscular and neurometabolic disorders, research by Mark Tarnapolosky found that creatine for Charcot-Marie-Tooth) was not been significant. Subcell Biochem. 2007;46:183-204. In a German study, Small trials of exercise, creatine, purified brain gangliosides, and orthoses have been performed. None showed significant benefit. Treatment for Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease Cochrane Database Syst Rev. 2008 Jan 23;(1):CD006052. In another study, Muscle Nerve. 2006 Nov;34(5):586-94. Effects of exercise and creatine on myosin heavy chain isoform composition in patients with Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Furthermore, the data are consistent with the hypothesis that creatine supplementation alters MHC composition in CMT patients undergoing resistance training and that MHC changes associated with creatine supplementation can improve muscle function. There hasn't been a ton of research on this. The jury is still out Perhaps creatine will be put through high thoroughput screening and we'll have more info soon. Look in our Creatine folder in the Files section for further info. Gretchen Gretchen
