Guest guest
Hi , That was a wonderful story. My heart was touched by it, as I am sure everyone on this board was touched. I am sorry to have to act in the role of " The Ghost of Christmas Future " , in your " Christmas Carol " . Last year, at the age of 92, my father died, as the direct result of 2 years of daily mold exposure, in his car. I had experienced a more noticeable set of symptoms, from the same car, so I had stopped using the car, after 2 or 3 months of experiencing symptoms. My health improved, while his health continued to deteriorate. During his 10 to 15 hospitalizations, in his last 2 years, I would explain, to ALL the doctors, that mold exposure was the underlying causation of all of his medical problems, and I would see the look in their eyes, that said: " This guy needs psychiatric help. " Here's where I become " The Ghost of Christmas Future " , so, if you would rather not hear this, just hit the " delete " button, right now. Over the 2 years, as the deterioration of my father's body began to be noticeable, even to him, he began listening to my mold warnings. He even bought a new car. But, by that time, the mold damage to his body was irreversible.. Here is how this relates to YOUR " little story " . During each of my father's hospitalizations, he would become a little more receptive to my mold warnings, and would " PROMISE " to make lifestyle changes, to lower his exposure to mold. He would even promise to NOT enter the " moldy home " , of his favorite grandaughter. As soon as he got home, from the hospital, he totally forgot the mold-avoidance promises that he had made in the hospital. , YOUR mother will forget any " mold-avoidance " promises, that she makes to you, while she is hospitalized, or in rehab. YOUR " Christmas Carol " will NOT have the happy ending of the Dickens novel. Once she is back in the same environment, that produced her life-long personality disorder, she will lose the cognitive ability to connect her mood shifts to her environmental surroundings. Unless her moldy home has been sold, or burned down[with insurance], she will return to living in it, and she will fail to see that she is having a " mood-shift " , from " positive " in rehab, to " negative " at home. I feel like the " Grinch Who Stole Christmas " away from you. But, for your own mental health, I urge you to prepare for my future scenario. Thank you for all your wonderful board postings, all year long. I wish you, and your mother, a wonderful holiday, and a New Year, in which I will be proven TOTALLY WRONG, in my predictions. God Bless, Joe ................................ > > I talk a lot about the house that I got sick in, where I lived from 1990-2007. > > However, much worse was the house where I grew up. It was clear when we moved into it that there was a mold problem, but this was the 1970's when basically no one on the planet knew that mold could be dangerous. > >
Guest guest
-Hi lisa, I too saw my Husband, whose work room was right next to the mold, turn into a monster over the years, raging, and arthritis and other mold symptoms, too late it was when I found out what was causing all our illness for years. > > Unless her moldy home has been sold, or burned down[with insurance], she will > return to living in it, and she will fail to see that she is having a > " mood-shift " , from " positive " in rehab, to " negative " at home. > > I feel like the " Grinch Who Stole Christmas " away from you.
