Guest guest
I am having serious difficulty with dry eyes. Tomorrow my ophthalmologist (who suggested that I'd better not wait) is inserting tubes into my tear ducts because eye drops 4x daily, even Restatis, don't seem to be helping. My eyes feel gritty all the time and my eyesight gets blurry several times a day. My concern is that the tubes might not help if this problem is related to my exposure to stachybotrys and aspergillus. I've had problems with dryness (dry skin, etc.) ever since and can only wonder if it might also affect my eyes. I have read research articles which state that it does affect one's vision. If so, what I am wondering is: will the tubes really help? And what do I do next if the tubes don't help? Can't talk to my opthalmologist about this because, like many others in the medical profession, she just doesn't acknowledge that toxic exposure might be affecting me. She is considered one of the best eye doctors in town. Would appreciate any comments. Thank you.
Guest guest
You might have Sjogren's Syndrome. It's an immune system disorder that causes dry eyes. Toxic mold causes immune system problems, so it is very likely that you have Sjogren's. I recently heard about another moldie who had eye problems and she tried Lamisil. The eye pain and swelling has significantly decreased. ________________________________ From: mello5757 <mello5757@...> Sent: Wed, December 9, 2009 3:48:12 AM Subject: [] Eye Problems I am having serious difficulty with dry eyes. Guest guest
I'd go ahead and try the tubes, my left eyelid swelled up with fluid because od a blocked tear duck that one doctor tried telling me was a sty, what crap, like i dont know the difference. anyway, i have what appears to be a permenant bump there and my eyelid is rather droupy now and it still is being ignored even through the process of cataracts removel, although that doctor did say yes, it is a blocked tearduct. your probably not going to get a doctor to reconize that it s caused from your mold exposure, but we know the truth. I went to the er last time it swelled my eyelid with fluid and the doctor forced it to drain by pushing on it and it hurt, i dont think thats what should have been done. i would get something done before this happens to you. good luck. > > I am having serious difficulty with dry eyes. Guest guest
I had blurred vision and could read fine print even with my reading glasses on. Also had sharp pains in my eyes and felt like I had dust or dirt in them. No problems now. Headaches & dizziness are my first indicators that I am in a bad place. I remeber this happening to me too when I was first exposed. It is amazing what our body can be come accustomed too. My problems all started with my eyes. They started burning and feeling like they had pieces of dirt in them whenever I was around mold. It's still my #1 surefire sign that something is wrong. I also became super light sensitive-I wore sunglasses at night too because street lights and car lights just killed me.
Guest guest
Visual involvement with exposure to microorganisms in WDB is common. It can range from conjunctivitis and edema of the cornea to actually involvement of the optic nerve (optic neuritis) and blindness. The most severe cases of eye involvement result from the invasion of molds and bacteria from the paranasal sinuses in the eye orbit, the optic nerve and surrounding structures. You can go the either google or better yet entrez pubmed and search for intracranial aspergillosis. You will find the incidence of this problem is increasing in immunocompetent individuals. I am currently writing a case study on a sphenoid aspergilloma resulting from exposure to a normal healthy woman at work. Guest guest
Where do you live? You must see a physician who understands the potential problem. The only physicians I am aware of who can do the appropriate diagnostics are Shoemaker (land), Dennis (Atlanta); Gray (Arizona) and Janette Hope (Santa Barbara, CA).
