Hi, I had Jim home since Sunday evening. It was nice having him home again. It

has almost been 3 months since he was home, but he keeps getting UTIs and he has

been too weak to get in the car. Sunday, he seemed alert and willing to go home,

so I brought him home and there was no trouble getting him in and out of the

car. Sunday evening at home, I noticed his left foot looked a little swollen,

but he has had swollen feet before and they went back down, but the next day the

foot and the ankle were swollen and today he was swollen from his foot clear up

his leg, so I brought him to ER and they did an Ultra Sound and found a blood

clot, so now he is on Coumadin to thin his blood. The good news is the doctor

said that blood clots in the legs are not threatening, but if it got up to the

lung, it could be life threatening. So it was caught on time. The doctor said he

probably got it from sitting all day.  I had his UTI antibiotic changed while in

ER and the

doctor changed it from Keflex to Bactrim 2Xs a day , because Jim had to

take Keflex 4Xs a day and it was 4Xs too much for him and he started to refuse

to take it.

Hopefully, this will get Jim back on track. Going into ER, he was very fidgety

and extremely confused like he gets whenever he is in discomfort. Can't blame

him with both a UTI and Blood Clot. After all the meds in ER, he came out very

perky and seemed to look a lot better. I'm hoping to see good results tomorrow.
