Guest guest
To all: Thanks to your hard work and dedication in passing a meaningful HB1150, the bill passed through the Senate last night in a 49-1 affirmative vote. The bill will now go to Governor Rendell for his signature. OUR CHILDREN WILL NO LONGER BE THE VICTIMS OF INSURANCE DISCRIMINATION. (Much to the chagrin of a few Senators who touted the legislation as " the gold standard " and " the best in the nation. " Because now it REALLY AND TRULY IS the best, no thanks to them.) Thanks to PENNSYLVANIA RESIDENTS we were able to turn this legislation into a good law, not the hollow promises of the bill that came from results of the involvement of Autism Speaks. Let this be a lesson to other states throughout the country to make sure that your grassroots organizations are unified and informed when fighting for legislation. The truth about what happened in Pennsylvania must be, and will be, told. I have received calls from all over the country telling similar stories -- particularly MI and FL of the involvement of outside groups that left their states with meaningless legislation urging us not to give up, to keep going to make sure that our state was not dealt the same " hand. " Political relationships and notches on a belt are more important to this organization that providing useful legislation. We were betrayed. Enough said. Let's celebrate a good victory that reflects what PENNSYLVANIANS wanted. Not some New York hired gun lobbyist. Sincerely and with the utmost thanks to all you for working so hard, Waeltermann
