Guest guest
Thanks, Sam, for the words of wisdom! I am skeptical about it and don't plan to have it done. It's most likely a way for someone to make money. Someone did tell me, a few years ago, to always leave your button in the recycle mode when you turn your engine off especially at night and humid weather. That way the damp air does not enter in over night. Makes sense to me so that's what we do. We usually alternate recycle and fresh while driving to get some fresh air in. Guest guest
Thanks for posting Sue, It would be great if it or something like it worked. I went through the site andunless I missed it, I didn't see any info at all on the product, how it worked, no msds, etc. Lot's of info on how bad the air quality is in cars. If it were truly legit, I would imagine that they would tout all their information. That is worrisome. The site seems geared towards getting car repair dealers to buy the product. Kind of reminds me of the pitch you'd get from some mlm's that are more interested in selling than the integrity of the product. As someone who used to be in sales many years ago, I always found the most moral approach was to only sell products that could speak for themselves in terms of quality and its ability to do as promised with all info above board and not something you have to hunt around for. Has anyone had any experience with it? Guest guest
Hi Sue, That is what I do as well wit my a/c and it does help. But you still can have problems as we have had. I sure wish there was a product that worked. I won't say that this one doesn't. But they don't seem to present things in a way that explains anything and that is troubling. Thanks for posting this. One day we will find something legit for our cars! Sam From: ssr3351@... <ssr3351@...> Subject: Re: [] Car Mist Date: Wednesday, September 30, 2009, 7:54 PM Thanks, Sam, for the words of wisdom! Guest guest
I never know what to do except to use common sense, keep things repaired and routinely inspect the house and car. So far so good. I found the MiST info interesting but wouldn't do it unless I knew more. My husband gets the incabin filters and changes them about every 4 months. Some days I feel crazy about all this and I have to just try to calm down and live as healthy as I possibly can. Sue Hi Sue, That is what I do as well wit my a/c and it does help. Guest guest
Sue, It's all you can do. Try to be vigilant, but don't give in to the panic and fear that the condition itself can sometimes exacerbate. It takes alot of inner strength and compassion at the very least. Guest guest
Thanks, Sam! I try to stay calm but it's really difficult. I can't even watch the commercial on TV about flood insurance where the water is pouring into the house. We've never had a problem here at the home but I get nervous turning on the dishwasher and running the washing machine. I even had my husband turn off the ice maker so I wouldn't have to worry about it!! He's a saint to put up with me!!! Every morning I get up and go to the basement to check the hot water heater just to make sure it isn't leaking!!!! If I ever had a leak I think I'd end up in the looney bin! Guest guest
Hi Sue, Also, don't forget to always have a toilet plunger next to every toilet bowl. It's astounding how fast that water can fill up your home, when something gets stuck, during the flush. After one such " flood " , it only took 3 or 4 weeks, for me to realize that the flood water had got underneath the linoleum floor covering, throughout the flood area, and enough mold had started growing, to make me deathly ill. I had to have a lot of the flooring ripped out and removed. When putting down NEW floor covering, always have a professional put clear caulk sealant in the open crack between the edge of the linoleum, and the baseboard of your walls. This way, if the plunger doesn't work, you may be able to mop up the flood BEFORE the water seeps underneath the linoleum. An unwritten law is that the linoleum that you have to rip out, is ALWAYS practically brand new, and you will always have the argument, with loved ones: " but honey, we just installed that linoleum, so how can it be making you sick? Guest guest
Thanks, Joe! I'll be going to Home Depot tomorrow to get two new plungers!!! We have ceramic tile which is pretty well sealed around the floor and walls but I know I would be a basket case!!! I am such a worrier it makes me almost sick at times. I wish I had a house on stilts and perfect in every way possible. I even have dreams about mold growing in my closets and water coming in. II used to be a upbeat and very happy person. Always cautious and aware but never the worry wart that I have become since getting so sick. Stay well and enjoy the nice Fall weather until the leaves come down, get wet and moldy!!!
