Guest guest
It is listed as uncertain or minor risk. It is known as 'phenytoin'. " ...Medications with multiple reported exposures and more than one claim of symptomatic worsening of neuropathy included metronidazole, nitrous oxide, statins, nitrofurantoin, phenytoin, and sertraline.... " " ...In particular, cases of worsening of neuropathy may by unreported or unrecognized, so it is still prudent to make your treating physician aware that drugs on the Medical Alert list may have the potential to adversely affect someone with CMT and to discuss alternative medications. More importantly, if you begin taking any of the medications on the list, or any other medication, and you notice a change in your condition, you should notify your physician immediately " . http://www.charcot-marie-tooth.org/med_alert.php
Guest guest
All I read the post with this text with interest Medications with multiple reported exposures and more than one claim of symptomatic worsening of neuropathy included metronidazole " ... I was a given a course of that stuff a few weeks ago as I had a root abcess and penicillen wasn't touching the infection. Three weeks later I can't walk the length of my building corridor which is only 20-30ft and am using a walker .... At the time I put my feebleness down to being run down and the infection. I can't believe the aftermath would take so long to recover from. Fiona Glasgow Scotland
