Guest guest
When your doctor called your initial reaction the " acute phase " , he was talking in terms of an allergy/asthma reaction. If, in fact, that is what you were experiencing, then you certainly will feel much better, now that you have thrown out the primary source of your mold, the air handler. But, if ANY part of your mold reaction was a " toxic " reaction, and not solely an allergic/asthmatic reaction, your doctor is " clueless " as to the illness progression, and prognosis, of that type of reaction, since he was never taught the basics of that reaction, in medical school. And, never having been taught, he will resort to the smokescreen that most doctors use, and tell you that " there is no such thing as a toxic (non-allergic)mold reaction " . Based on MY experience, and the experiences of others on this board, here is my prognosis of your mold reaction, if ANY part of that reaction is a " toxic " reaction. It is a partial reprint of a previous post of mine. Here is the mathematical reason that you have no other choice, [other than leaving your home] in order to keep yourself alive. You probably are thinking that getting rid of 90 percent of your mold, will lower your degree of illness by 90 percent. That is NOT the way our bodies work, in relation to toxic mold reaction. What REALLY happens, is that you will experience a brief period of improved health, until your body adjusts to the new reduced amount of mold in your home. Then, contrary to logic, your body will experience the SAME degree of illness and misery, that it experienced during the original mold exposure, which was ten times greater than the new reduced level of mold exposure. Then, if you reduce the amount of mold by a further 90 percent from your " then-current " level, bringing the mold level down to only ONE PERCENT of the original mold level, you will experience another brief period of improved health, until your body adjusts to this extremely low level of mold, at which point your body will return to the same level of misery as it experienced at the original mold level, which was ONE HUNDRED times greater than the current mold level. Here is the math: 100 percent mold exposure = 100 percent reaction; 10 percent mold exposure = 100 percent reaction; one percent mold exposure = 100 percent reaction When you speak with most doctors, they will say that " mold allergy " is always equal to the quantity of mold you are exposed to. They are correct. But, they are also uneducated morons, when it comes to " toxic mold " . Toxic mold reativity is NOT " dose-related " . For the rest of your life, and MY life, we will always react, intensely, to ever-decreasing amounts of mold exposure. I have been this blunt, with you, as I don't want you to DIE from mold exposure, as my father died, last year. My father's death was a " wake-up call " for me, in dealing with MY mold exposure problems. Joe ............................................................ I doubled up my CSM, but am still in what my doc likes to call, " acute phase mold illness reaction. " >
