Guest guest
Everyone is different after foot surgery. Please make use of our Archives for information. My own surgery (both feet at the same time) and casts for 6 weeks gave me some pain after casts were removed, due to the fact that the structure of my feet had been altered. And cut into. And non-weight bearing. But I do not remember needing anything stronger than aspirin. Once I was walking (in good supportive shoes) the pain gradually subsided. Remember, it is not natural for our bodies to be cut up, and healing takes time. Gretchen
Guest guest
I was walking fine, but of course needed my custom orthotics to eliminate the pain and add support. Walking bare boot is extremely painful, so I also have a second set of orthotics that I use in slippers, etc. This surgery is worth the inconvenience, and I've had both feet done in the past year. Best of luck to you. Mark
Guest guest
I took a while to walk without crutches. My son only took a few weeks. I was more scared then anything else. Try not to feel rushed to walk with out crutches it will happen when you are ready. I didn't feel discomfort right after the cast was removed. It was nice just to have it off. Walking was fine unless I stepped on something bare foot. Just stepping on a crumb would hurt pretty freaking bad. That lasted for over a year. This is an exciting time for you the hard part is over
