It's really hard to get antifungals out of a doctor if it is for an 'off label'

use, or any drug for that matter, but particularly antifungals. I have had

swollen foot since last March. Doctors have been willing to rx antibiotics for

it, " just in case " , but not antifungals 'just in case'. It was only due to

amount of time I have suffered with this and my story of why I felt it was

possibly a fungal infection that one doctor wrote an rx, AND also I had tried

everything else he thought would help.

Google pictures of infections by dermatophte and see if you have any infections

that look like that, any toenail infection or infection between your toes. You

could get it for that.

Do some research into 'off label' use of drug and see if you fit into that

picture. If you do, you will have to shop around for doctor who will rx it for

off label use. Some are not interested. However if you find someone that open

minded, you probably have found a good doctor and the search was worth the time.

Hello,

What i had to do was call around and let the Doctor know that was my goal to get

lamisil and it seems they are more willing to work with you before you give them

money. Lamisil is $4 right now at walmart. It helped me alot with my toxic mold

exposure. Just keep makin calls.

I asked one doctor for it and they said no. How do you get it

and how many mg's does one take and for how long?

Thanks

aspergillus fumigatus. For me it was like a " smart bomb " - but did not help

with the fatigue. It did feel as though every day, poison was being sucked from

my sinuses.

Hi Barb

No I don't have this in my toenail or between my nails.

Thanks I don't think a doc would give it to me.

You would need to have your toenails scraped and cultured to get a prescription

and the diagnosis of onycomycosis (I think) would be specific for Lamisil. I can

not emphasize enough that this is no drug to be taken without the greatest of

prudence. You also need bloodwork or a bronchoscopy and lavage to show what is

in your lungs.

A sinus scraping might yield results which might help. You just can't go to get

Lamisil at Walmart like an antibiotic. Most good docs do liver function testing

because it is processed in the liver and you only get one liver. Not everyone

has the same type of mold - there are many species. It is not " one size fits

all. "

This is not medical advice.
