Melatonin helps. 3mgs is the normal dose. I've also had body and osteopathic work done which helps me a lot. The books say to make sure you don't have any wax buildup in your ears. Good luck. At first I thought the sound was coming from outside of my head: the refrigerator, etc. I'd walk around the house looking for the buzzing. I finally realized the sound was coming from my own head. I knew this was tinnitus I did go to my doctor after that and read a couple books about it. That's where I found out about ear wax, melatonin and getting the body work. My tinnitus gets worse when I have migraines and better when I get neck adjustments. The melatonin also helps some but it takes a while. My problem isn't as severe as yours though. I haven't lost my hearing and I don't have vertigo (only when my bp gets too low); in fact, my hearing is just as sensitive as my sense of smell. Have you had a doctor look in your ears to at least rule out any obstructions, inflammation or infection?
Guest guest
Ann, I have tinnitis also. It notice it the most when I have travelled in car and then get home and turn off the engine...all of a sudden all that noise from car and traffic, and I notice everything is quiet but my earings are ringing really loud. However they are ringing now and I just got up but usually I'm just not paying attention. I've always had a tendency to build up wax in ears. Is that a big contributor? I don't take melatonin. Hadn't heard of that. Also can I ask what kind of osteopathic work did you have done? Thought osteopathy was work on skeletin. Does that help? Thanks >> > > I have tinnitus (the ringing in the ears) . Melatonin helps. 3mgs is the normal dose. I've also had body and osteopathic work done which helps me a lot.
