Guest guest
Hi, I stayed at the Marriot Pure Rooms. I have a lung disease and MCS. Mostly all my reactions are respiratory and my vocal cords react immediately. The Pure rooms are all on one floor. In this particular one they are on the 6th floor. Housekeeping was very accomodating. I reacted to the first room which was not one of the designated Pure rooms. They just placed an air purifier in the room. There were problems with the reservation which is how I ended up in the wrong room, wrong hotel. Anyway, the manager from housekeeping had someone help me move. They transfered my oxygen tank which was delivered to the hotel and all my belongings for me. The Manager sniffed out rooms for me. She is very sensitive as well, and while she maybe different at least attempted to look on her own. She went up the the Pure room floor and looked for scents and picked a room. I was then allowed to have an extra air purifier as well. She explained she has a client with chemical intolerance she does this for. In advance she would make sure the room was not cleaned with anything scented, chemical cleaners or such. Her clent apparently stays there often from what I undeestood and she ensures everything is to her specifications. I found this very helpful. I always have a nightmare with accomodations. I found the room to have a faint smell walking in. However it did not hault my breathing as it would nowmally do. I was just at the entrance. I had linen and my own pillow encasements. I placed both purifiers at the end of the bed aiming at the bed. (This is the same purifer I have). I knew the best placement and had 02 as well. I made it threw the trip with no major problems. The manager also gave me her information in the event I was coming again I could contact her in advance and she would get the room ready to my specifications. I did not smell tea tree in the room. Even if I were to stay across the way at the Residence in which is new, she asked I call her and she would mke the arrangements with the other manager of housekeeping and would work together with them to ensure the room was ready for my arrival. As I mentioned I travel with my own linen, towels, pillow encasement, etc. I was also given special rates because I was going to the hospital. Please note that this did not come from OLGear, the ozone company which posted the press release (apparantly to tout ozone). Also note how quickly they responded. That in itself is good news. Guest guest
I've given up going to hotels no matter how safe they claim to be. I used to bring all my own bedding and towels and have rooms pre-cleaned for me in a special way. I would even book an extra day so the room could air out before I arrived. I always traveled with an air purifier. That used to work. But things have changed. Most hotels use a powdered freshener when they vacuum. There is something fragranced in the AC system whether it is individual room AC or a whole hotel system. Some places add air freshener directly into the system and there is nothing you can do about it. Even the ones that don't are still problematic. I am also starting to think that to prevent mold issues, some systems also are made with triclosan built in. I have no proof of that, but it is certainly a major trigger for me.
