Guest guest
Hello all, I'm in Vermont, looking for an inexpensive house to buy. I've seen one that is highly desirable in terms of my chemical sensitivities, but the basement smells of mold and is wet, and I don't tolerate mold. My understanding is that it is an expensive proposition to remedy this situation, but I'm asking again just to double check as I'd really like this house. Would I need to hire someone to come in and check to see if the mold has gone up the walls inside the house? Is there an inexpensive way to dry out the basement and rid it of mold and seal it from becoming wet and moldy in the future? (I guess I'm asking for the impossible here, but I just want to double check my thinking) Thank you. Carole
