Guest guest
Hi Jackie, When I run, I am in about 5 feet of water. And I jog in place facing into a 3 mph current. My arms are moving the same as they would if I ran on earth, but in the pool, they get a different workout. It's part of the cardio-aqua variation I do. And for sure I wear shoes to protect my feet! I'm not tethered to anything nor do I wear a belt. Sometimes I use a 'noodle' (foam tube) to cushion the spine. Some info below (of course this is for runners/athletes and not for CMT, but you'll get the idea. http://sportsmedicine.about.com/cs/conditioning/a/aa032002a.htm http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-238-263--5536-2-1-2,00.html# http://www.ehow.com/how_10340_practice-deep-water.html http://www.healthsystem.virginia.edu/internet/pmr/obser100.cfm http://www.totalfitnessnetwork.com/cgi-bin/totalfitnessnetwork/Deep_Water_Runnin\ g2.html Gretchen
