HPV vaccine, girls and CMT

For all of you with young girls who have been (or may be) diagnosed with CMT, I

urge you to read articles written by Dr. Diane Harper, Darthmouth Medical

School, one of the lead investigators who developed the HPV vaccine, before

having your daughter vaccinated against HPV.

(Please know that I am not on a general anti-vaccine journey, but as a health

care practitioner,(with CMT type 1A), I feel it important to research things

before I have my daughter vaccinated for everything in the book!)

I contacted Dr. Harper with some concerns, as my daughter likely has CMT as

well, and she promptly replied back that I should NOT have my daughter

vaccinated, because of the significant risks involved with individuals who may

have a pre-existing neuropathy.

Thought I would share this knowledge as there are mass vaccination programs in

certain schools (in Canada, anyhow)and even those administering these vaccines

are, admittedly, not aware of the increased risks in girls with potential or

existing underlying neuropathies, let alone aware of who may have an underlying

condition!

I think it is important to spread the word.
