Almost 3,000 people died in the 9/11 terrorist attacks. How many more will die

from the toxic exposures engendered by the World Trade Center collapse and

fires? The media has recently reported several 9/11-related deaths, and

thousands of New Yorkers are now chronically ill with problems that include

severe asthma, lung disease, gastrointestinal symptoms, unusual memory loss,

rashes, and joint and muscle. pain. Following 9/11, banners and bumper stickers

appeared everywhere saying that the heroes of 9/11 would never be forgotten, but

now all too many First Responders and others find their lives a nightmare as

they struggle virtually unaided to keep working while suffering from devastating

health problems.
