Guest guest
Interesting info about Westinghouse. I never knew that. And yes, the office of budget and management DID find that if more people die young, it saves costs of social security and medicare. (like one would need a study to understand that). But that is not the point. The point is ACOEM using the fear mongering technique to bash the health care bill. The point is, these guys are doing slick marketing. " preventative medicine " is a code phrase in some instances of blaming the sick for their illnesses. fat? smoke? sorry, the work place did not cause your illness. insurance denied. Preventative medicine IS good. But not the way ACOEM is selling it to instill fear that health care reform is meant to kill us off early. If you guys have never rummaged thru the ACOEM website, you should. They appear to view the worker as chattel with the only concern being how to best use them to increase industry profits. Guest guest
I hate to burst yer bubble, but in a college course I took many years ago it was widely discussed by the professor and a number of students that from certain people's point of view it's best for the government (and those people) if the majority of us do NOT live longer due to the strain on others to take care of them and the " burden " to the younger workers by draining SSA, SSDI, medicare, etc... Along the lines of bursting your bubble thinking that all is done in the best interest of society overall: Why do you think Royal Rife's office was ransacked and his notes taken (mostly destroyed but thankfully some survived) showing proof that the causes of many cancers were found to be viral and/or bacterial related and his very effective treatments were discredited (and worse)? It sure wasn't to help cancer patients that he was discredited and dishonored (btw, today the viral / cancer link has been reaffirmed such as HPV linked to cervical cancer) http://www.rifevideos.com/ http://www.rense.com/health/rife.htm Why do you think Nikola Tesla died alone as a pauper after he theorized and proved broadcast power - the wireless transmission of electricity that he demonstrated by lighting " Edison lightbulbs " over 20 miles from the power source, without any transmission lines whatsoever? (this was in the 1880s or 1890s... over 100 years ago) Westinghouse and Edison wanted to SELL electricity, whereas Tesla planned to give it to the people, free of charge. Westinghouse's response? He yanked Tesla's funding. http://books.google.com/books?id=tmmOvqV4MboC & pg=PA57 & lpg=PA57 & dq=tesla+westingh\ ouse+broadcast & source=bl & ots=5fDScf215G & sig=DQXUdIJwTnrCx5-iRQ3NSRP7JNk & hl=en & ei\ =gPf5SpH1AoiYMemH6dYK & sa=X & oi=book_result & ct=result & resnum=8 & ved=0CCgQ6AEwBw#v=o\ nepage & q=tesla%20westinghouse%20broadcast & f=false Why has the news been so quiet about Razer Technologies? Earlier this year they successfully demonstrated a modified 2009 Hummer H3 before the U.S. Congress. The H3, known as a very large gas guzzling SUV was modified as a PHEV - plugin hybrid electric vehicle - that achieves over 100+ mpg. http://greenstockscentral.com/raser-rz-to-showcase-hybrid-hummer-h3-at-us-capito\ l-tomorrow-1630.html Now ponder that all three of these examples involve multiple aspects of power - both electricity power and greed / capiltalism power over society. Power is Power. On Tue, Nov 10, 2009 at 10:31 AM, <snk1955@...> wrote: >Talk about some slick marketing on behalf of the insurance industry and > the US Chamber! Hymel: Why preventive care is critical By Pamela A. Hymel Monday, November 9, 2009; 6:25 PM In recent reports and letters to Senate and House leaders, the Congressional Budget Office says there is no evidence that preventive health care saves money -- and that actually it has the potential to do the opposite by extending the lives of our citizens, who eventually will rely on programs such as Social Security and Medicare. This Story * _Pamela A. Hymel: Why preventive care is critical_ (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/story/2009/11/09/ST2009110903314.h\ tml) * _More from Second Opinions: A forum on health care_ (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2009/09/15/LI2009091501691\ ..html) But as leaders in Congress debate the issue of preventive health care, they should not focus simply on how much it will cost. Rather, they should think about how much prevention will earn: the potentially huge impact of work-based disease prevention and wellness programs on our economy and national productive output. Simply put, a healthier workforce is a more productive workforce -- on virtually every level one can measure: From an individual's daily work performance and satisfaction to a company's bottom line and the nation's gross domestic product..... .
