This is to announce the next Finding Work Opportunities for Creative Arts Therapists seminar to be held on Wednesday September 17th 7-9:30PM at the Frisch-Hara Music Therapy studio located on the upper eastside.

This seminar provides useful information on finding unadvertised

positions, writing resumes, preparing for interviews & best present

oneself to any perspective employer from the unique perspective of a

department head who has many years of hiring and interviewing people. A

personal resume review & resource materials are included in the

seminar. Early registration is $50 if registered is by Tuesday 9/16 ($60 after 9/16). Seminar description is enclosed within this e-mail.

About the seminar’s content:

This seminar, will first present a hospital administrator’s

perspective on future trends and opportunities in healthcare that are

changing healthcare. The presenter will discuss how and why healthcare

providers are starting new programs and services despite a tighter

economy. Seminar participants will get knowledge of where work

opportunities exist where creative arts therapists can fill and thrive.

This seminar will also provide unique information and strategies on

obtaining a creative arts therapist position from an experie

nced

working creative arts therapist and hospital administrator. Topics

covered include strategies to go about finding positions at facilities

that don’t advertise, how to best write your resume, how to best

present oneself during a job interview, how to negotiate the best

possible terms with a pote

ntial employer. The seminar will help those who are looking for a

creative arts therapy job regardless whether one is starting a career

or an experienced therapist seeking a job change.

Limited seating & advance registration is required. Seminar fee $60.

About the seminar’s presenter:

Hara, MA, MA, CGP, MT-BC, LCAT, is currently the director of a

large creative arts therapy department in New York City. He has

interviewed and hired most of his current LCAT staff. A creative arts

therapist with over twenty-seven years of experience, has develop

contacts with various other healthcare facilities and has an ongoing

interest in tracking treads within the healthcare field. He also has

several years working on a contractual basis and gone to many

interviews/job changes himself. He will offer his unique perspective on

what often helps people successfully gain creative arts therapy jobs.
