Guest guest
Matt, If your ortho couldn't do the surgery right in the first place, without having to 'add' something now, I certainly would get a 2nd or 3rd opinion before I let the same ortho operate on me. I had tendon surgery, both feet at the same time, 40+ years ago and it is still lasting. I was a child. Unheard of then to operate on such a young girl. But the surgeon was brilliant. With all the technology, education, and experience in practice a good foot/ankle/surgeon should not have to 'add on' or 're-do' tendon surgery. It's not rocket science. On the other hand, if you put weight on it before it was ready, or there was infection, or you're at a higher body weight, this failure may not all be your surgeon's problem.
