People who have problems with mold are often warned not to have indoor plants

because of the mold, moisture and " decomposing of plant matter " issues. Why

would anyone put live plants in a windowless (I presume) vault?

Police stations (not unlike schools have inherent building problems (flat roofs,

poor repairs, etc.,) and law enforcement agencies are not immune from stupidity.

Where are all those wonderful federal (and local) agencies charged with

directing " custody " and preservation of criminal evidence? And the police

unions who are supposed to be taking care of their members.

Tobacco workers can get tobacco workers lung as well as people who smoke leaves

which have mold growing on them. Sounds like some of these people should go

back to high school biology class because they were sleeping during class.

Don't forensic people have a say in how evidence is stored?

Not only is it important to know whether the mold came from the plants or the

building " envelope. "
