,

The amalgam fillings are 50% mercury which is a very toxic substance. Go to

the links on these pages to the websites on mercury/amalgam fillings and you

will find that one of the symptoms of mercury poisoning is

depression/anxiety, and can also be a source of the metallic taste.

Durelle: I have to admit in the winter it isn't so bad. It is so insidious. What

I hate and this is being really stupid cause I should just appreciate the

painfree time. I go through the winters usually fairly painfree. I have the

tiredness and some pain with winter storms but nothing like in the spring. And

then when spring gets here I find myself in agony and I forget. lol. You would

think at my age I would make the connection but I find each spring getting up

and my feet hurt so much. I swear they feel like someone has beat them with a

baseball bat or something and I start thinking something is very seriously wrong

with me. It is usually a month or so before I think, duh, it is the fybro.

I will try the melatonin. I had tried it for stress as my sister and mother

swear by it but for me I didn't think it worked that great but I am willing to

try it for this. I really wish I could take the elovil because it did so much

for the pain but just can't do the other effects. :(

I also had heard some about the fillings and actually had a girlfriend that was

terribly ill a few years ago. She was convinced that this was her problem but

her doctors wouldn't listen. I myself would not have the money to do it. :( I am

a poor woman. lol.

Thanks for answering

Hi

I was in England last year during the summer and I felt great there - I thought

it might be because I was from down under (NZ) and I was the other way up..haha.

As for the teeth and jaw pain I understand it is a common syptom of

Fibromyalgia, I think its called myofascial pain. My understanding of it is

thats its like neuralgia and I often get it when the Fibro flares up. Weather

definitely does affect the level of pain too. Some people recommend having

amalgam fillings removed and replaced with newer non-toxic material - expensive

but effective, so I haven't done this yet.

I am new to the group and have been lucky here (I am currently living in

Australaia) to find a doctor who specialises in using natural medicines to heal.

I have just begun taking Melatonin in Homoeopathic mode for sleep problems to do

with Fibro. It is working a treat and with better sleep I feel less achy during

the day. The homoeopathic type is better for me because I am so sensitive to

drugs (another side effect of Fibro).

The doctor also told me about Leaky Gut Syndrome where the digestive system

isn't able to work properly in fact the gut walls break down and intestinal

flora leak out into the tissues and cause allergic reactions in the body, most

often in joints or muscles. This could explain the flare ups associated with

Fibro. The way I am beings treated for this is to take Acidophilus and Bifidus (

called probiotics) in tablet or powder form, stronger than just plain yoghurt.

That and removing all grains from my diet. A great site for reading more about

health along these lines is www.mercola.com The site has a wealth of

information about diet.

The other treatment that has made a most signifcant impact on my health is

called BodyTalk a form of kinesiology where the practioner talks directly with

our body's inate wisdom asking what is needed to clear the dis-ease from us.

There are some practioners in England and more in USA and Aust and NZ The

website is www.bodytalksystem.co if you want more information. I heartily

recommend it for any dis-ease. Some amazing healings have been recorded using

this method.

Fibromyalgia can also be cause by T3 thryoid malfunction. Some people have had

great success by taking thyroid hormones. You'd need a sympathetic doctor to get

your bloods tested thoroughly before trying this. But it might be worth

following up.

Good luck. Hope this is of help.

  • 5 years later...

I guess I should introduce myself :-)

My name is and I live in Ontario Canada.

I'm NT with an Aspie hubby, Aspie adult son and Aspie Grandson who is 4 yrs old.

We are part of a research project at McMaster University Hospital to look for possible heridiatary (sp) or pre-disposition to Autism.

I'm been married 38 yrs and its been pretty awful and even more so because we had no idea what we were dealing with. When my son was growing up they didn't know about Aspergers....it was a nightmare but I worked my butt off to help him and he is a good person with a wife and two kids. Then when was born and later diagnosed with Aspergers it changed all our lives for the better. My son just got his official dx , hubby hasn't got his but there is no doubt . Since then he takes (hubby ) rescue remedy daily and extra some days ....I say daily but sometimes he forgets and then we have a bad day here and I'm too old and too tired for any more bad days but its getting better.

As an NT mom and wife , the knowledge that none of this is my fault has been so liberating. Every now and then I still fall into the trap of thinking its my fault eg....Adam was a jerk the day he was diagnosed and called to say he'd been dx'd with schizophrenia.....he thought it was funny...FUNNY ?????? ....I was pissed off and he knew it. So he told his wife that he's afraid I will be mean to him at Christmas because of it. This is a 34 yr old man saying this about his old mother who somedays feels older than Methusala and I let it get to me.....and then I remembered this was His problem , not mine....so I'm fine and looking forward to Christmas and I will hug him and we will have a good day !

My Daughter in law and I have become very close because who else but me knows what its like to have an aspie hubby and an aspie son....lol....we understand each other and help each other thru.

Anyway, that's my story and I'm sticking to it :-)
