Guest guest
Hi All - I was diagnosed with CMT disease late last year by my neurologists following years of extensive testing. I'm 59 years old. I used to be quite active and a brown belt instructor in Tang Soo Do but gave it up when my balance and gait became a real challenge 26 years ago. I have a sensory neuronopathy (that I now have been able to trace back three generations) that has sped up and gotten worse noticeably since 2003. I've tried deep-water running and recumbent bike exercises to try to slow the decline in leg muscles... I recently saw an ad in as magazine for Skechers Shape Ups and decided to order a pair. Last week they arrived with an insruction book and a DVD. When I put them on it was like walking on beach sand or as thick shag carpet. (Both of those are a challenge to me). By the the end of the day I had started getting used to them (although still wobbly). Does anyohe have experience with this product over time? I feel like it will challenge me to use muscles in the feet thst are not being used today in a way that ultimately will help my balance and leg muscle tone.
