Guest guest
Tammy, I agree with you. It just boils down to how each person defines the beginning of life. I would encourage each of you to read the literature that suggested and give this some real thought. Don't just take on the view of the multitudes on the left and vice vera with the right. I believe that life begins at conception....meaning, when the sperm joins the egg. I believe that a " blastocyst " is the beginning stages of a human life. Afterall, we are all made up of cells. Using the argument that the embryo cannot sustain life outside of the womb makes no sense to me, although I know that is true. There are many human beings of all ages who are dependent upon kidney dialysis machines, breathing machines, drugs, etc....some of which, would not be living without these things...their lives are being " sustained " because of these machines, etc. Should we start " experimenting " or doing so-called research on them? I think not. When I first was diagnosed with CMT, I questioned my position on this, because I obviously would love to see a cure for CMT and other terrible diseases, but not at the expense of a life. I am all for adult stem cell research and any research that does not cross ethical/moral lines. Amy Hodge
