Guest guest
Gerri I have several pieces of manufactured hardware in my back, both feet and in my right hand. As a result, my immune system has been compromised. When I have any dental work, or encounter any other medical procedure where bacteria and or blood may be introduced, I have to take an antibiotic previous to and after any procedure. I always mention to whatever medical practitioner I visit, that I have CMT and inquire as to if antibiotics are recommended or required for any medical procedures. Otherwise, I do not take any antibiotics on a routine basis. Your best bet is to check with your CMT specialist, neurologist or PCP.
