Guest guest
Hey Rhoda - I don't know if it applies to immune panels, but I've heard Dr G say before that sometimes in the beginning the labs are not manifesting the true picture because of the dysfunction, for example sometimes after hitting a virus w/an antiviral can change several results and make them look 'worse' than before they started, and that it is not always a bad sign. If your son is doing well and better, that is what matters at the moment. The numbers/lab results are only part of it. Guest guest
Thanks . That may well be the case with him. It's just that he's been off an anti-viral for over a year now so I'm not sure if those numbers have been high all this time or are just recently shooting up. The other thing is that he has always been pretty healthy -- very few colds, no allergies, no food sensitivities, one bout of flu in five and a half years -- so it's a lot harder for me to tell if he is healthier on the immune side of things. Good reminder for me though. Maybe we kicked those numbers out of hiding with the anti-viral and they've stayed up there. If that's the case, how do we get them back down? Go back on an anti-viral? I honestly didn't see one difference with him when we took him off. I would hate to add more meds back into the mix again, but I guess that's a possibility. Only time will tell -- consult is in July. Thanks again. Guest guest
Hi everyone, After moving twice to get away from moldy houses, I've been experiencing allergy symptoms in my new house as well, which I'm working towards leaving (complete with everything I own). The thing I'd like to ask is, I recently had some blood tests done, and while my IgA was a bit high, the doctor remarked that my IgE was normal, and he had expected it to be high because I'd told him I was experiencing allergies. I've previously tested positive for allergies to 2 molds. Can anyone tell me if this blood test result means that I am definitely not experiencing an allergic reaction? Thanks ita
