Ruth,

Your words were right out of MY mouth.  For a year a refused to use a

wheelchair.  We couldn't go to the movies, restaurants involving more than a few

steps,  flea markets, fairs, etc.  My husband fought with me over it.  He asked

me if I was going to do nothing for the rest of my life..  I finally gave in.  I

was very embarrassed the first year.  But now I say Okay, Let's go.  Put the

wheelchair in the car. I'm ready.  No more feeling embarrassed. It's no big deal

now and I only wish I had wised up sooner.
