Offerings are open to all. For more information, contact Jane (jedwards@..., ). All workshops will be held at our new campus. Introduction to MediationLearn about the mediation process, the various contexts in which mediation is employed, and the range of approaches to mediation practice. Workshop will address the role of the mediator and core mediation principles and skills. Information includes a framework for conceptualizing conflict and the experience of being in conflict and information about mediation resources in the community. Presenters will discuss the utility of mediation skills in various social work settings. Presenters: Rickenberg, Esq, and n Adler, LMSW, graduate of Fordham Graduate School of Social Service and Fordham Law School. Thursday, December 11, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. Fee: students, $30; alumni/field instructor, $35; community, $40. Creative Arts Therapy DayThis unique, one-day creative seminar in group therapy will be taught by five professional arts therapists. Experientially and didactically, participants will be introduced to the use of art, music, dance, poetry and psychodrama as therapeutic techniques. Sunday, January 11, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Registration requested by December 15. Fee: students, $80; alumni/field instructor, $90; community, $100. Psychodrama -- Gay French-Ottaviani is a certified psychodramatist, group therapist and licensed clinical social worker with a private practice in Pound Ridge, New York.Dance Therapy -- Suzi Tortora is a nationally known certified dance therapist, specializing in pediatrics. She is a private practitioner, author and senior dance therapist at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.Art Therapy -- Ker Beckley, clinical art therapist and artist, is the Director of Art Therapy at Four Winds Psychiatric Hospital.Poetry and Journal Therapy -- Scherlong is a registered poetry therapist, a clinical social worker, an EMDR practitioner, a certified hypnotist, an AMRC disaster mental health clinician and an internal family systems practitioner.Music Therapy -- Popkin provides music therapy services at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. The Essence of GestaltThis one-day course provides an overview of the theoretical framework underlying the practice of gestalt therapy. Learn about and explore a variety of tools and techniques, such as present-centered awareness, chair work, contact boundary, layers theory (as it relates to the transformation process) and dream work.This dynamic course will include a combination of lectures, experiential exercises and live demonstrations of gestalt therapy.Sunday, March 15, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Facilitator Naaz Houseini, MA LP, is a certified gestalt therapist, voice healer and performing artist with a private practice in Nyack.
