Guest guest
--So this is how he was raised to view disabled folks?Sounds like he may have more issues from his inappropriate inadequate father who made him wear dead mans pants. I dont but the excuse thats what they did then. I had a lady in the neiborhood growing up who was told to put her downs child away. She refused, she raised that child just as she raised the rest of her children That child is independant today. She gets help with grocerie shopping and banking but thats all. She lives alone and works for a living. She is a contributing happy member of society. Too bad Savages parents were to ignorant to do that for his brother instead of letting him die.- In EOHarm , JOE HARRIS` wrote: > > Maybe someone should check if he visited his brother. or just let him rot in there > > schaferatsprynet wrote: > Savage is clearly on the defensive, as he should be. > Savage is learning just how " phony " autism is as his gates are being > roundly stormed. > > Clearly, the parents with autism he is hearing from are hardly money > grubbing hustlers trying to hold onto their welfare entitlements. > > Savage said his brother was disabled, mute and dumped in a Staten > Island institution where he died in his twenties. Guest guest
Here is a response from one of the stations that run his show. Doesn't sound much like a back down. But personally I think he has what he wanted.....attention. Cg When asked about firing him: " In a word, no. Free speech doesn't just mean speech you don't find offensive or disagreeable. Savage does have more listeners in the Bay Area than any other afternoon talk host by a large margin. " Here are some things you already may know or perhaps not: 1. Savage owns his own show, and we are precluded from editing the content. 2. He doesn't work for Clear Channel. He is syndicated on around 350 stations by Talk Radio Network out of Oregon. He is not an employee, and thus we can't fire him. 3. I suspect that a lot of the 10 million some people that listen to his show share most of his beliefs, even without his show, even though you or I or others may be positive some of those ideas are wrong. 4. Many controversial talk show hosts, including Savage, are already on lists of shows that some advertisers avoid. Thanks for taking time to write. Guest guest
---so we keep track of all his sponsers and keep on them. When his pocket is affected he will find out. Guest guest
That's true about him being on a list not to run spots during. I've seen it. Dr. has a lot too. For many of these smaller AM stations, Savage is a huge draw. However, if you can get the advertisers to back out, he's a goner. No sponsors. No show. That's really what it's about. Not free speech. > > > > > > Savage is clearly on the defensive, as he should be. > > Savage is learning just how " phony " autism is as his gates are being > > roundly stormed. > > > > Clearly, the parents with autism he is hearing from are hardly money > > grubbing hustlers trying to hold onto their welfare entitlements. > > > > Savage said his brother was disabled, mute and dumped in a Staten > > Island institution where he died in his twenties. Guest guest
I think in the 2 hours I heard him--he must have repeated the lining up story at least 25 times. He said that kids are being diagnosed with autism because they line things up. . It's so assinine-what can one comment? I guess more of his defense. maurine Subject: Savage on the defenseTo: EOHarm Date: Monday, July 21, 2008, 8:26 PM Savage is clearly on the defensive, as he should be. Guest guest
Note there is nothing in that response about autism. Looks like a form letter.
