Guest guest
Hi yall, I am 53 & from the Tyler TX area & yes I am a lucky owner of the CMT gean. Some times very frustrating, sometimes sad/mad and then sometimes I just have to laugh at myself after looking up from the ground I have just fallen onto AGAIN. I don't know about anyone else but my legs seem to quite often have a mind of their own. You know when your mind says " OK We are taking a step now..... & your legs seemly chuckles & says O so you think so do ya.... then you eat dirt. LOL! B But all in all one HAS to keep a smile on their face & a strong since of determination high on their list of daily things to do. I come from a long line of CMT family on my Dad's side. (I still love you Dad). The Hudgins family out of N.C. I know of a cousin, Carolyn who I was named after, who also has CMT, I remember her from my childhood, who I would love to locate. My younger sister & I were blessed with CMT out of 3 kids. My older sister is fine. No one knows how awesome it was to find out that there is a place where I can converse with other CMTites. And that someone else actually knows that CMT is real including doctors. I just cried when I got the list with 2 doctors near my area that I can check on going to. At this time in my life things in the CMT world are moving on faster, which I am not happy about. (I am too independent to ask for help, I'm learning, I just don't like waiting. SOOO IF there is a way I can finagle to get it done I will give it all I've got before retreating to that 4 letter word " help " ). With things progressing as they are it is becoming harder for me to get around even inside & out side my home. On the DVD I got from CMTA Gretchen mentioned assistance, a grant or low interest loan I think, for disabled to build a handicap accessible home. Dose any one have info on that of any kind? Gretchen said to ask about it on her site. So here I am with a smile on my face, holding to my faith for some good news. Hoping to get out of this cramped MH. Not complaining, but I just see what is ahead of us & need to move on things before I get too far along and cant get in or out of the house. I'd go NUTS. I need to be out side, it's in my blood. After all I plan to be around for some time yet & can not be stuck indoors. I keep telling my kids to warn the Grand kids that Nana will be willed to them. I intend to live to at least 103 (Granmaw was 100). & I don't plan on leaving this world of natural causes....so hide the car keys kiddos. LOL! I do want to THANK each of you for this site & May God Bless all your efforts to reach out to more & more of us with CMT. Carolyn
