Guest guest
Hello everyone. I'm a soon to be 47 year old female who has been sick for the last five years. For a long time it was thought that I had MS, but now the doctor's are thinking that CMT is likely, or perhaps a mitochondrial disease. Whatever it is, I want to get it figured out so I can start on the appropriate treatment (if there is one). My symptoms consist of pain in my feet and legs (sometimes severe), sharp, stabbing pains in my feet, numbness and tingling, and stiffness. I have started to progress in the past few months and need to use a wheel chair if I have to be on my feet for very long. I do have high arches and a few hammer toes. I have what I think is slight atrophy in the muscle of both of my lower legs. I could be wrong on this though. I'm suppose to have another EMG and Nerve conduction test next month. I had one just last month and it was negative. But, I'm seeing a new doctor and he wants to repeat it. He is concerned that they didn't test my feet. He said it might just show up there only. I guess I'm afraid that the test will be negative and I won't learn anything. He seemed as though he would go on to the next step though. Thanks for listening to me. I look forward to getting to know all of you. Sharon
