Guest guest
So do I (echoing Lenny, "I'd rather you stay"). At the same time, it is nice to know what the roadkill is and how to avoid it, whenever possible. It is also nice to know more about our "enemies", i.e., the folks who write these dumb blogs. , you need to stay. I don't think Lenny meant that you need to go for bringing one of these blogs to our attention. Haven't we dealt in the past with the various neurodiversity blogs? I find it helpful, and I'm sure that others must do also, to read what the "opposition" is writing or opining, no matter how ill-advised they may be. There should be room for all of us here, no matter what our opinions are, as we truly do have so much to learn from each other. Guest guest
No, , you stay!! Both you and Lenny are making good points here. In my opinion, you both stay and share what you have to say! Guest guest
Well said ! Ditto here. Subject: Re:Dragging Blog Road Kill to this ListTo: EOHarm Date: Monday, September 1, 2008, 8:52 AM I have not the slightest idea why anybody would want to denigrate any post, any word from Hokkanen, who is surely one of the most articulate, thought-provoking and conscientious members of this or any group.Beyond that, I disagree with your entire premise that "small pockets of nobodies" are not "real threats."Could – or should – we wade through every post on the internet, weighing what anyone has to say about vaccines? No, and no one is posting volumes of links to all these. However, the post that pointed out represents quite nicely what I've concluded is the biggest threat we face. It's appropriate and important to know how the "nobodies" of this world are responding (or not) to the facts as they emerge, as well as to the propaganda that spews from the mouths of the likes of Offitt.I've pretty much stopped reading articles that quote the good doctor Offitt, the reportage of Gardiner , the hundreds of CDC propaganda pieces that pass for journalism. I now skip right down to the public comments that accompany many of them. That biggest of all threats to truth is right there. Joe Citizen isn't buying what we have to say because he's been reassured by the "experts" who keep him safe and take a load of responsibility off his shoulders. He doesn't want to be confused with the facts; hasn't got the time or interest to look into it himself. We can rejoice all we like when something like the Pohling case is unearthed, but Joe's already decided that it has nothing to do with the safety of vaccines. It's just another defective kid, with parents looking for a hand-out from HIS pocket. Now, beyond offering no support for getting at the truth, Joe now has been whipped up into a frenzy, absolutely certain that people like us are a mortal threat to him and his.I should think it's clear by now that it is not, and, sadly, never was, a matter of unearthing and exposing facts about vaccine safety and promotion that will win us a fair trial. It's a matter of convincing the public that there are important, open questions that will never be settled without full and independent inquiry and research. ly, I can't see much progress on that front in almost 10 years. We've seen It often enough now on every controversy, political and scientific: All it takes, it seems, to get the American people on your side is to have an appropriate piece of paper (degree or job title), lots of cash, and a willingness to repeat carefully selected phrases over and over again. Repetition from these sorts equals truth to the public mind we've got today. With the rare exception of someone like Bernadine Healy, the medical establishment isn't interested in the truth about what has happened to the children of this nation. They only want this unfortunate controversy to go away. Politicians only want to do whatever it takes to get re-elected.Without winning the "small nobodies" over enough to see them demand some unbiased answers, we're nowhere, folks. Truth will out – yes – someday, when it will be no more than a quaint footnote in dusty medical history texts. Not in our lifetimes.I hope Lenny will do the needful and not deprive us of anything wishes to share.>> > > Okay, Lenny, you get your wish.> I'm unsubscribing.> > - Hokkanen> > Dragging Blog Road Kill to this List > Posted by: "schaferatsprynet" schafer@... schaferatsprynet > Sun Aug 31, 2008 11:04 am (PDT) > > We just had a couple of outrageous links to blogs posted to this list.
