Guest guest
Hi everyone, I wear one AFO on my left foot due to foot drop. I have only had it 3 years, I am 60. Sooooo, I do believe that the AFO has helped, but also hindered. It has changed the landing of my foot alot especially when not wearing it around the house. My toes are very small and the ones on my right foot move A LITTLE and the ones on my left not at all. BUT by me going to the gym three times a week and doing exercises for the ankles/feet it has helped. Oh I know nothing will cure this but I have accepted it and walk the way I do with or without the cane and aid of an AFO. I am at the age now that I must be true to myself, stay safe, and exercise the whole body. In my case the AFO has caused atrophy in the foot more so than in the leg. Just wanted to drop a note, and we all must continue to think positive and accept ourselves the way we are. I beleive God made us this way for a reason. Have a great weekend. Elaine in sunny Florida... lol,, actually this is our rainy season...
