Guest guest
Hi , I've had tremors ever since my sophomore year in college. Tried a few medications to suppress them, taking Amitriptyline (Elavil) worked the best for a long, long time. Neither Inderal (Propranolol) nor Mysoline (Primidone)worked, matter of fact both had adverse effects on me. About 3 years ago I began with a new neurologist who is brilliant. Long story short, since then I've been taking Symmetrel (Amantadine Hydrochloride) and that has allieviated my tremors. It is an off label use of the medication. Guest guest
I have been taking Propranolol for several years; usually about 40-60 mg. per day (20 mg. tablets). Controls my tremors very well. Very inexpensive medicine. K.
Guest guest
The parkinsons folks use CoQ10, up to about 1500mg/day and find if effective for tremors. When Cymbalta was giving me pectoral spasms I was up to about 750mg/day of the CoQ10 and that kept them at bay. In reading, it was my impression that it is best to start with lower doses of it, then work up as needed. O
