Guest guest
The purported writing by a Dr. Dave Janda is being investigated for its legitimacy by snopes.com _http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/janda.asp_ (http://www.snopes.com/politics/soapbox/janda.asp) According to several chatboard sites, its a FAKE. READ and VERIFY people, before you spread info farther. There is MUCH politics and fear mongering being mass promoted by proponents of the insurance industry. Sharon Kramer _stymie (68.32.157.62)_ (mailto:.) from NEW JERSEY says Fake article 1) It’s a fake article that pretends to be written by Dr. Janda. All postings I can find are from other people reposting it. And what claims to be posted by the doctor himself are only on places like blogs that anyone can choose a name to post under. Links trying to make the article legit just point to where his book is on sale. Out of all the articles on his website not one mentions the health care B.S. in the fake article. etc. 2) When you actually search the health care document the quotes don't exist in it. i.e. fakes in the article. In case you aren’t familiar, subsequent versions of the plan wouldn’t remove those quotes either. They add sections that tell you what words to remove, change, or append. If the quotes were ever there, they still would be in each version. 3) The section 1233 referenced in the article does talk about " Advanced Care Planning " but that is the only thing the article got right about it (actually the article spelled Advance with a “d†at the end which is wrong and the title really is “ADVANCE CARE PLANNING CONSULTATIONâ€. A real article wouldn't be that sloppy.). The section really talks about informing older people about living wills, power of attorney, roles of health care proxies, end of life services and benefits covered under the plan etc. i.e. it informs people about these things so they know they know they are available and what they are for. This would allow people to correctly plan for their later years. This would also mean less stuff would be decided by judges and would be decided by the actual person in question. This also makes it harder for people to be taken advantage of since they are pre-informed. 4) The Obama administration didn't actually write the plan like the article states. Obama outlined that he wanted health care reform and a few structured concepts. He left it to Congress to write the details (after all they are the ones who are supposed to write the laws). He was hoping for a non-partisan reform proposal but that is a different story. In the end it was not an " Obama Care " proposal but one written by Congress. The article is just Obama bashing by way of propaganda. 5) Dr. Dave Janda is a real author and doctor. Do you really think he would write such a jumbled unorganized mess as is in the article? Not if he wanted anyone to take him seriously. Obviously he didn't write this. In a message dated 8/12/2009 5:17:06 A.M.
